Platform Policies

Effective Date: April 2026

1. General Terms

Welcome to DMV EVENT SPACE. These Platform Policies outline the rules, rights, and responsibilities for all users—both Hosts and Guests—utilizing our platform to list, search for, and book event spaces.

By using the DMV EVENT SPACE platform, you agree to comply with these terms. We reserve the right to modify these policies at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes have been published constitutes your acceptance of the revised policies.

2. Booking & Payments

All transactions must take place directly through the DMV EVENT SPACE secure payment system. Circumventing the platform to pay for bookings directly is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent account suspension.

  • Minimum Booking Hours: Bookings must adhere to the Host's set minimum hourly requirement.
  • Overtime: If a Guest remains in the space past the agreed booking time, they will be billed at 1.5x the Host's hourly rate, billed in 30-minute increments.
  • Security Deposits: Hosts reserve the right to require a security deposit. This will be held via authorization on the Guest's payment method and released 48 hours after the event, provided no damages are reported.

3. Guest Obligations

Guests are responsible for treating the booked space with respect and adhering strictly to the parameters set during the booking process.

  • Capacity Limits: The number of attendees must never exceed the maximum guest capacity listed on the reservation.
  • Setup and Cleanup: Your booking time encompasses both your setup and breakdown. You must leave the space exactly as you found it before your reservation period ends.
  • Host Rules: Guests must adhere to any specific rules laid out by the Host on the space listing (e.g., no loud music after 10 PM, no glitter, restricted access zones).
  • Damages: Guests are financially responsible for any property damage caused by themselves, their vendors, or their attendees during the booking.

4. Host Obligations

Hosts represent the standard of quality for DMV EVENT SPACE and must ensure their locations are safe, accurate, and ready for use.

  • Accuracy of Listings: The space must match the photographs and descriptions provided on the platform. All listed amenities (e.g., WiFi, AV equipment) must be in working order.
  • Access: Hosts must ensure Guests have clear, unimpeded access to the space at the exact start time of the booking.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Spaces must be thoroughly cleaned before each booking and meet all local safety, fire, and zoning codes.
  • Surveillance Disclosure: Hosts must clearly disclose the presence of any active recording devices or security cameras within the listing description. Cameras are strictly prohibited in private areas such as bathrooms or changing rooms.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

To protect both Hosts and Guests, DMV EVENT SPACE enforces a standardized cancellation policy based on the timeframe in which the cancellation occurs.

  • Grace Period: Guests may cancel any booking within 24 hours of confirmation for a full refund, provided the event is still at least 48 hours away.
  • Standard Cancellation: Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the event start time will receive a full refund, minus the DMV EVENT SPACE processing fee.
  • Late Cancellation: Cancellations made between 7 days and 48 hours prior to the event will receive a 50% refund.
  • No Refunds: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the event start time are entirely non-refundable.

6. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited across all DMV EVENT SPACE bookings. Violation of these rules will result in immediate termination of the event without refund and involvement of local authorities if necessary.

  • Underage drinking or illegal drug use of any kind.
  • The presence of firearms, explosives, or illegal weapons.
  • Adult entertainment, prostitution, or any non-consensual sexual content creation.
  • Ticketing sales at the door, unless explicitly approved by the Host in writing prior to the event.
  • Use of smoke machines, pyrotechnics, or open flames without prior written authorization from the Host.
